Values and Beliefs
Excellence
Fort Collins (FoCo) CPR and First Aid does not cut corners when considering the life of a human being. We strive to provide the highest quality of education from experienced healthcare professionals. We invest in top of the line training equipment, including live feedback devices in all CPR manikins, to ensure participants are trained to the highest standards in healthcare. Excellent training leads to quality care and empowers individuals to act quickly and competently in the event of an emergency.
Education
We believe that education is “a passport” to future opportunities and that one’s quality of life is directly related to what they know and how they apply that knowledge, while striving to do good in the world! Mahatma Gandhi said it best, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
Fort Collins (FoCo) CPR and First Aid equips all people with lifesaving skills by making education accessible regardless of finances. Therefore, financial aid may be awarded to individuals experiencing food and/or financial insecurity by offering a discount on all services. Select participants may qualify for a full ride scholarship that covers all expenses related to emergency response training services at zero cost to them.
Action
Knowledge must lead to acts of service and to the betterment of one's own self, family, friends, and community if we are ever to reach our highest ideals and to make a real difference in the world. During times of physical and/or mental crisis and/or states of emergency, victims rely almost entirely on the actions of “good samaritans” to intervene on their behalf.
We are taking action to prevent mental illness in Northern Colorado by providing mental health first aid training by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing for adults and youth; together with organizations like World Changers, a local nonprofit organization whose purpose is to invest in people and programs that eradicate poverty, promote mental health, and be the change they wish to see in the world.
Holistic Health
To develop a lifestyle of enduring health and wellness in the 21st-century we understand that one must develop a focused effort, determination, and autonomy while finding purposeful work. A holistic approach to health, life, and wellness encourages authentic reflection involving the entire person (mind/body/soul/spirit). Integrative medicine and alternative methods of healthcare (acupuncture, yoga, diet, etc.) complement, or in some cases substitute, conventional allopathic interventions (drugs, radiation, surgery).
We invite our staff and clients into a deeper and more complete understanding of healthcare systems and the roles each of us play in it as either professional caregivers or first aiders.
Community
“We the people…” of Fort Collins, Colorado and the surrounding regions have a unique opportunity to support each other and the local needs of our community. Embodying virtues that strengthen the human collective with empathy and forward moving action.
We invest in long-term and mutually beneficial personal and professional relationships. Community provides the backbone and stability for small business enterprises, like us, to flourish and we don’t take you for granted!
We believe that health care is a universal, and inherent, human right that ought to be accessible to all people without discrimination, bias, or prejudice of any kind.
Prosperity
We believe that financial literacy is important and understand the task to create sustainable health and wellness is not entirely possible without financial security. Therefore, we are committed to a lifestyle of conscious prosperity according to God’s promises. In addition, we strive to support our employees with equitable living wages that allow them to thrive.
Philanthropy
We are in business to solve problems and serve people. Therefore, we are committed to donating a portion of profits each year to organizations like: The Kayla Foundation who fund extracurricular music programs for students in Fort Collins.
We also provide financial support to Christian ministries like Arise Global who serve underprivileged communities in countries like Romania, Bulgaria, and Kosovo while sharing the love of Jesus while providing financial scholarships and prayer support to individual missionaries.
Global Impact
We are aware that our locally owned business in Northern Colorado is a part of a much larger community of people and that we can make a difference on the world stage! We refuse to turn a blind eye to the severe need(s) affecting humanity today.
As a result, we defend the principles of The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and The Constitution of the United States of America, to the best of our capacity.
Our impact intends to reach places like Mexico, El Salvador, and China with translated emergency response skills training and education including Sierra Leone, West Africa by providing sterile medical equipment and access to health care by trained medical professionals to a community of 500 people.
